Judges and Bios

Laurie Anning has worked in the entertainment industry for over 20 years and has appeared in television, on-stage, print and commercials. As a young model she is best known for working with Mattel Toy Corporation as the real Barbie actor/model and danced in many Disneyland parades. A pageant competitor she has won many city, state and national titles. For over 20 years Laurie has also worked with pageants as a judge, executive coordinator, emcee and director in over 150 live pageant events.  She is currently the Executive Coordinator for the Miss Global Pageant which produces pageants nationally and internationally. Four years ago, Laurie fought and won her battle with stage 3 breast cancer, teaching her to keep her heart set on her faith and family. Throughout Laurie’s life she has worked with many charities and was the recipient of the Volunteer Service Award by President George W. Bush in 2006.  
Sara Glavas is an accomplished entrepreneur and equestrian. Sara started her success early in life winning the highest equestrian accolades both Nationally and Internationally multiple times by the age of 16. With a degree in marketing and finance, and a background in information technology, she parlayed that competitive spirit into a multi-million-dollar affiliate marketing company rooted in health and wellness by the age of 25. She is considered to be one of the top marketing experts in her field. Most recently, Sara applied her expertise to the aesthetics and wellness market by co-founding California Body Sculpt. California Body Sculpt is a cutting-edge, non-invasive alternative to traditional surgery and Cool Sculpting. Sara’s primary goal and mission is to help people transform their lives through health and wellness. 
Jamie Rios is a veteran in the pageant industry for over 20 years as a director, judge, emcee and pageant producer.  He has judged more than 100 pageants and is a sought-after pageant coach. A bilingual school outreach worker he has received numerous awards including 2002 and 2006 Staff Employee of the year, San Bernardino San Bernardino City Unified School District’s Golden Apple Award as well as the Crystal Apple Award and the prestigious “Making Hope Happen” award which was awarded by the school district’s superintendent. His most recent recognition is the 2017 Citizen of Achievement Award by the League of Women Voters and the 2017 Black Rose Award.
Vida Samadzai is a successful model, actress, spokesperson and advocate for women’s rights for over 15 years.  She was crowned Ms. America 2005-06 and went onto compete in the Miss Tourism International Queen Pageant in China where she was crowned Miss Continent America. Living in India, she is a household name for being on the highest rated TV show in Asia, “Big Boss.” An actress in Bollywood she has had acting roles in over 10 films and several commercials. She is also a model and spokesperson for Pepsi, Reebok, Ever Youth Cosmetics and a sought-after runway model for famous designers. But Vida made her mark in the history books with world-wide media attention when she was the first Afghan women to appear in a red 2-piece swimsuit as Miss Afghanistan in the Miss Earth 2003 pageant. After many death threats and banned from returning to Afghanistan, she received the Beauty for a Cause Award and the Presidential Award from the President of the United States for her tireless charity work for women’s rights.
Norma Smith Morein has been involved in pageants for over 10 years as a contestant, performer, producer, judge and was crowned Ms. Senior California 2011. She received a full scholarship from Stanford University where she received a degree in political science with an emphasis on International Relations. She has held several positions including being a high school teacher, co-owner of her own packaging company, national marketing manager for Artistic Gifts and the owner of American Preferred Financial Inc which provides Real Estate and mortgage services. She continues her love for singing and performs all over the country with several groups as a solo artist and on several radio programs.
SPECIAL AWARD JUDGE: Does not sit in the judge’s interviews. She will be judging the Special Awards only. She does sit with the judges at the judges table Saturday night but does NOT judge anything other than Special Awards.

Rita Mezrahi
is the Founder and Creative Director of Claire’s Collection, a couturier of glamorous evening gowns that have been worn by many celebrities in the spotlight – in music, film and television, sports and national pageant winners. These celebrities who have worn her couture gowns for their very special occasions, include Halle Berry, Cindy Crawford, Sandra Bullock, Julie Andrews, Shania Twain, Kim Cattrall, Diahann Carroll, and Dolly Parton to name a few.
